stir-fried bitter gourd recipe |
This is my favorit food, I love these combination of little bit bitter, spicy and delicious tempeh. Here is the way that I always do to reduce the bitterness by rubbing salt on it and squeezing it's juice out. Reply this way till 2 times, and trust me you will get delicious bitter gourd.
Ingredients : 2 bitter gourds - sliced thin, 100 gram tempeh - sliced thin, 3 cloves garlic - chopped, 1 onion - chopped, 3 chillis- chopped, 2 sliced galangal, 3 bay leaves, 2 tbs dried shrimp, salt and sugar to taste
Directions:
- Heat oil in the frying pan and saute tempeh till golden brown.
- Remove tempeh from the frying an and set aside.
- Heat oil in the frying pan saute onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add chillis, galangal, bay leaves and dried shrimp cook arround 2 minutes.
- Continue cooking, add bitter gourds, little bit water and cook till bitter gourds soften.
- Add tempeh, salt and sugar.
- Serve with warm rice.
