Stir-fried bitter gourd with tempeh

stir-fried bitter gourd recipe




This is my favorit food, I love these combination of little bit bitter, spicy and delicious tempeh. Here is the way that I always do to reduce  the bitterness by rubbing salt on it and squeezing it's juice out. Reply  this way till 2 times, and trust me you will get delicious bitter gourd.


Ingredients : 2 bitter gourds - sliced thin, 100 gram tempeh - sliced thin, 3 cloves garlic - chopped, 1 onion - chopped, 3 chillis- chopped, 2 sliced galangal, 3 bay leaves, 2 tbs dried shrimp, salt and sugar to taste


Directions:
  1.  Heat oil in the frying pan and saute tempeh till golden brown.
  2.  Remove tempeh from the frying an and set aside.
  3.  Heat oil in the frying pan saute onion and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add chillis, galangal, bay leaves and dried shrimp cook arround 2 minutes.
  5. Continue cooking, add bitter gourds, little bit water and cook till bitter gourds soften.
  6. Add tempeh, salt and sugar.
  7. Serve with warm rice.
